GROUNDS FOR DIVORCE
In Maryland, you can file for either a fault-based divorce or a no-fault divorce. A no-fault divorce does not require the spouse requesting the divorce to prove that the other spouse did something wrong. A fault-based divorce, on the other hand, requires the requesting spouse to provide evidence of cruelty of treatment, excessively vicious conduct, abuse, adultery, or desertion. If you want to ensure that all the facets of your Maryland divorce go smoothly, you need an attorney who knows the ins and outs of Maryland divorce law.

But to be sure, which Fulton or Howard County attorney you hire can, in the end, not only determine how well you do but how quickly you get in and out of the court process. Experience matters.

Working For Everyone’s Best Interest
Collaborative divorce is becoming an increasingly popular solution for separating couples. The team will help ensure that the separation agreement allows both parties to come away satisfied with the outcome, which drastically reduces the chance of further litigation. Instead of going through an emotionally-charged court battle, collaborative divorce prioritizes problem-solving through communication and mediation.
Attorney Thomas Mulinazzi is a Certified Collaborative Law Professional, having completed the Collaborative and Advanced Team Collaborative Training. He has successfully helped dozens of clients create lasting and fair agreements using the Collaborative Process.
ABOUT FULTON, MD
Fulton is a census-designated place located in southern Howard County, Maryland. Prior to 1805, Fulton was known as Queen Caroline Parish, then later as Hammond Directions. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 4,050.
Fulton is a town with a rich history. Initially settled in the 18th century by German immigrants, it was referred to as “Water’s Store” for Richard Water’s blacksmith operation and post office, which opened in December 1874. The name was then changed to Fulton after the popular Baltimore Sun editor Charles C. Fulton. In the early 1900s, there were many industries, such as wheat mills and sawmills, that made Fulton an important economic center of Western Howard County until after World War II, when these jobs disappeared. With time, however, this town has become more diverse, and residents are still proud to be called “Fultons.”
Residents enjoy the low crime rates as well as major recreational facilities, including Devlin Field (a baseball stadium), Southside Park (the only public golf course in Howard County), and Edgerton Park.
